The Baptist Faith and Message (BFM) 2000 is a statement of faith adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention. It outlines key beliefs held by Southern Baptists, including:

  1. Scripture: The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is authoritative for faith and practice.
  2. God: There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. Salvation: Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and was resurrected.
  4. Church: The church is a local body of baptized believers, committed to the teachings of Christ and the mission of spreading the Gospel.
  5. Ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances instituted by Christ.
  6. Last Things: Beliefs about the end times, including the return of Christ and the resurrection of the dead.
