That is a great question! Yes Jesus is God’s Son. We can find many passages in the Bible that refer to Jesus as being the Son of God. God calls Jesus His own Son twice:

Matthew 3:17 – And behold a voice [God] out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Matthew 17:5 – “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!”

The disciples of Jesus also called him the Son of God:

Matthew 16:16 – Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

While Jesus had an earthly mother name Mary, God was Jesus’ real Father. He has always existed with God the Father. Some people, like the religious leaders, thought that Jesus was lying about being the Son of God. No one would ever claim to be the Son of God because that would be both crazy and prideful. Because they felt he was making such a sinful claim about himself, they decided to have him crucified. But Jesus rose from the dead meaning that He truly was the Son of God!
