Community Outreach
Community Outreach at Rawls Baptist Church
Rawls Baptist Church seeks to serve people beyond Sunday worship through prayer, Bible study, encouragement, and practical opportunities to care for our neighbors.
Serving Beyond Sunday
Through community outreach in Fuquay-Varina, Rawls puts Christian care into practice beyond our regular church gatherings. Through prayer, Scripture, encouragement, and relationships, we seek to care for people in the local community.
Gathering with residents at Calyx Senior Living and welcoming neighbors at the Park for Prayer tent are two ways this takes shape. Church members have opportunities to participate as needs and occasions to serve arise.
Calyx Senior Living Bible Study
Rawls Baptist Church gathers with residents at Calyx for a senior living Bible study and Christian fellowship. Time in Scripture and conversation offers an opportunity to encourage one another and build relationships.
The Bible study meets on the first and third Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Visit the dedicated Calyx page for the full ministry story, upcoming dates, and more details.
Park for Prayer
When the Park for Prayer tent is set up near the church entrance, anyone is welcome to stop by. From time to time, the pastor sets up the Rawls tent with chairs beneath or nearby. Music is sometimes played to create a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
People may stop to talk, share a concern, or ask for prayer. The pastor may listen, offer encouragement or advice, or simply pray about whatever is on a person’s heart.
Park for Prayer is an active prayer ministry but does not follow a regular published schedule. Seeing the tent set up is an invitation to stop by, whether or not you attend Rawls.
Serving Our Neighbors With Prayer and Care
Outreach begins with being present: listening, sharing Scripture, praying, and offering encouragement. A conversation beneath a tent or time spent with residents at Calyx can be a simple way to care for a neighbor.
These ministries give us opportunities to build relationships and put Christian care into practice wherever real opportunities to serve arise.
Get Involved in Community Outreach
You do not need to already attend Rawls to ask about getting involved. Outreach opportunities may vary, and contacting the church is a good way to learn about Calyx Bible Study, Park for Prayer, or other opportunities as they arise.
