Men gathering for fellowship and a shared meal at Rawls Baptist Church.

Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry at Rawls Baptist Church

Rawls Men’s Ministry gives men a regular place to share a meal, build friendships, pray together, open Scripture, discuss everyday life, and serve the church and community. The monthly gathering is informal and fellowship-driven, with a short devotional, open discussion, and time to plan upcoming projects.

Why Men’s Ministry Matters

Men’s ministry has long been an important part of Baptist church life, giving men a place to build friendships, encourage one another in their faith, pray together, and serve alongside one another.

At Rawls, the emphasis is on fellowship, practical encouragement, and connecting biblical truth with the responsibilities and challenges men face in everyday life. Adult men of all ages are welcome, including visitors from Fuquay-Varina, Angier, and surrounding communities.

What Happens at a Men’s Ministry Meeting

Each gathering begins with a shared meal. The men rotate responsibility for providing food, keeping the evening relaxed and informal.

A significant part of the meeting is set aside for prayer. The group works through current prayer requests and prays together for needs within the church, families, and the wider community.

The group also shares a short devotional from Scripture, followed by questions, comments, and discussion. Different men rotate through the devotional, so the format may vary from month to month. Some use a prepared study, while others bring a passage, reading, or reflection they have found helpful.

There is also room for practical conversation about issues facing Christian men today, including family, work, personal responsibilities, and broader questions in the world around us, with an emphasis on applying biblical truth to everyday life.

What to Know Before You Come

Come As You Are
The atmosphere is very casual. T-shirts, shorts, jeans, and everyday clothes are common, and there is no expectation to dress up.
Visitors Are Welcome
You do not need to be on the church signup sheet to attend. The signup simply helps with meal planning, so first-time visitors can just come and join us.
No Cost to Attend
There is no cost for the meal or gathering. An optional offering helps support the Men’s Ministry’s annual contribution to Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina.
Adult Men of All Ages
The group includes men from a wide range of ages and life stages, whether they have attended Rawls for years or are visiting for the first time.

Where We Meet

The Men’s Ministry meets in the Fellowship Hall at Rawls Baptist Church. The room is easy to reach from the main parking area.

A first-floor plan is included below to help first-time visitors find the Fellowship Hall.

Serving Together

Service projects vary throughout the year depending on current needs and opportunities.

The Men’s Ministry supports Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina as an ongoing mission and has also helped with projects such as a breakfast fundraiser supporting Rawls’ Backyard Bible Club.

Monthly Gathering

Men’s Ministry normally meets on the third Thursday of each month from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

About once each quarter, the group may meet on a Saturday morning instead, usually for breakfast, giving men who cannot regularly attend during the week another opportunity to take part.
