Music Ministry
Music Ministry at Rawls Baptist Church
The Praise Team serves Rawls Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina through music that supports congregational worship, bringing contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns into our Sunday gatherings.
Music That Supports Congregational Worship
The Praise Team leads music during Sunday worship each week, helping the congregation worship together through song. Vocals, piano, and guitar form the regular musical core, with occasional backing tracks as needed.
The focus is not performance for its own sake, but supporting the church as we sing and worship together.
The Rawls Praise Team
Several people share in the Praise Team’s musical leadership during Sunday worship. Piano accompaniment rotates among members, and Susanna Gaster often plays guitar. The team also provides special music from time to time and contributes musically during special services and joint church services involving Rawls.
Susanna Gaster serves as Music Director. Anyone interested in singing or playing with the Praise Team can contact her to learn more about participating.
Preparing for Sunday Worship
Wednesday rehearsal at 1:00 PM gives the team time to work through music for the coming Sunday or prepare for an upcoming special service.
On Sunday morning, the team gathers for a short practice around 9:45–10:00 AM before Sunday Worship begins at 10:45 AM.
Leading Worship Together
Contemporary worship songs and traditional hymns both have a place in the musical life of Rawls. Some Sundays also include special music, such as a vocal solo or piano solo, alongside the congregation’s singing.
The Praise Team often participates in special services. When Rawls takes part in joint church services, members of the Praise Team may also contribute to the musical portion.
Coming Soon: Music & More
Music & More will give children ages 4 through 5th grade a place to explore music, Scripture, and creative activities at Rawls Baptist Church. Children will use instruments and movement with classic Bible songs, learn biblical and seasonal music, and prepare occasional songs for church-service specials.
Bible stories and biblical themes, monthly Scripture memory, crafts connected to the music, and snack time will round out the hour. Music & More is planned for Wednesdays from 6:30–7:30 PM while adult Wednesday Bible Study meets.
The program will meet in a children’s classroom, with exact room details shared closer to launch. Learn more about Children & Families at Rawls.
