Wednesday evening Bible Study at Rawls Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina.

Wednesday Evenings

Wednesday Bible Study at Rawls Baptist Church

Wednesday Bible Study is a relaxed midweek gathering centered on prayer, Scripture, questions, and discussion. Visitors are welcome to listen, participate, and grow alongside the church family.

Why Wednesday Bible Study Matters

A midweek Bible study gives the church another opportunity to slow down, pray together, ask questions, and spend time in Scripture outside of Sunday worship.

At Rawls, Wednesday evenings are conversational and welcoming rather than classroom-driven. Adults and older teens from Fuquay-Varina, Lillington, and surrounding communities are welcome to join the discussion or simply listen.

A Typical Wednesday Evening

Each Wednesday begins with a single hymn led by Music Director Susanna Gaster, usually accompanied by guitar. The simpler midweek format helps set a relaxed tone before prayer and Bible discussion.

After prayer, Pastor Brandon Gaster introduces a few discussion questions and gives the group time to think through the topic together. People are free to offer ideas, ask questions, or simply listen.

The discussion can move across different questions and Bible passages from week to week rather than following one book of the Bible straight through. Pastor Brandon then works through relevant Scripture to explain the biblical context and support the discussion.

The group closes in prayer and normally finishes at 7:30 PM.

What to Know Before You Come

Come As You Are
Wednesday Bible Study is very casual. T-shirts, shorts, jeans, and everyday clothes are completely normal, and there is no expectation to dress up.
Bring a Bible if You Have One
Bring a Bible if you have one. If not, ESV Bibles are available in the sanctuary pews for anyone to use.
Participate at Your Comfort Level
You are welcome to ask questions, join the discussion, or simply listen. There is no expectation that visitors speak or participate publicly.
Adults and Older Teens
The gathering is primarily for adults, and older teens are welcome.

Where We Meet

Wednesday Bible Study meets in the Sanctuary at Rawls Baptist Church. Most people sit toward the back, but visitors are welcome to sit wherever they are comfortable.

The setting is intentionally informal. Pastor Brandon brings a podium closer to the congregation rather than teaching from the stage, which helps the evening feel more conversational than a Sunday worship service.

Prayer at Rawls

Prayer is an important part of each Wednesday gathering. The group spends time sharing current needs, reviewing ongoing prayer requests, and praying together before moving into the Bible discussion.

Prayer requests submitted through the church website can also be included in the church’s ongoing prayer list. You can submit a prayer request online.

Wednesday Gathering

Wednesday Bible Study normally meets each Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary.

Most Wednesday evenings follow the regular Bible study format. About once each quarter, the church may hold a business meeting during the same time instead.

Visitors are welcome to attend a business meeting, while voting is reserved for church members. Check the upcoming dates to see what is scheduled for each Wednesday.
